Description

Carved wooden tweezers. Each half is carved from a single piece of wood, and the two are hinged together.

Context

Made by an unidentified Union soldier while imprisoned at Camp Sumter, more commonly known as Andersonville. Andersonville held 45,000 Union soldiers over 14 months, nearly 13,000 of whom died.
