Description

Black embroidered dress shirt. The shirt has a plain collar with black rope gadrooned edging and black enamel button quarter-length opening. There is black floral and vine embroidery across the shoulders and over the front, and rope-edged breast pockets on each side of the chest. The tunic has a simple shaped waist edge and embroidered cuffs on the sleeves to match the shoulder embroidery. There is a label in the back that reads, "Scully / SINCE 1906" in brown on a tawny label. Worn by Rick Norcross while touring with his western swing band, Rick and the Ramblers.

Rick Norcross has played more than 1,000 shows, singing his Vermont songs for over 60 years as a journeyman musician, band leader and songwriter. He has toured England four times, including an eight month residency in London in 1965 and 1966. In addition he has performed in Canada, Ireland, The Netherlands and recently in Spain, playing a 10 day tour of British Folk Clubs in Murcia. He was a featured performer at The Florida State Fair for 11 years, headlined Vermont Day at the Eastern States Exposition, “The Big E,” for six years and was elected to the Big E Board of Trustees in 2019. He has played 59 concerts in the Vermont State Parks system and appeared at virtually every County Fair and Field Days in northern and central Vermont. He was a featured performer at nine WOKO Hot Country Music Festivals and performed at 21 First Night Burlington New Year’s Eve Celebrations. On his 50th Birthday, Mayor Peter Clavelle declared March 23rd “Rick Norcross Day” in Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. In 2009, Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss dubbed March “Rick Norcross & The Green Mountain Chew Chew Food & Music Festival Month.” In 2010, noted Vermont author Stephen Russell Payne wrote the biography, “Riding My Guitar – The Rick Norcross Story.” The Norcross-penned song “You Can’t Make It Up” was honored in 2015 as “Western Swing Song of the Year” by The Academy of Western Artists in Gene Autry, OK and in 2019 his “I Love Western Swing” was adopted as the theme song for the “Ft. Worth Birthplace of Western Swing Music Festival” in Texas."
