Description

This brush work is a form of visual haiku, the 17-syllable Japanese poetic form associated with experiences of nature. This work displays 17 large brush strokes that are repeated in 17 small black strokes arranged vertically. The large central black shape is repeated at the first calligraphic stroke in the top upper left column. Please note that the accession number does not indicate the year the piece was added to the collection but the year it was inventoried.
