The Spirit immediately drove him forth into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days and forty nights, being tempted the while by Satan. And he was with the wild beast, and the angels ministered to him.

And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a very great crowd, Bartimeus, a blind man, was sitting by the wayside, begging. And hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”...And Jesus addressed him sayinh “What wouldst thou have me do for thee?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see.” And Jesus said to him, “Go thy way; thyfaith has saved thee.” Andat oncey he recovered his sight and followed him along the road.
