top right, Eikon 105. Top left, Eikon 101. Bottom Left, Eikon 103. Bottom Right, Eikon 104. Carefully crafted as portable eikons/icons, these were some of Romans first experimental works in Minneapolis. They exhibit his mastery of color and were intended to be meditations on the interaction of color oppositions. They were yet another foray into the resolution of color oppositions. These were exhibited in Roman's "Imaging the Unseen" exhibitions at West Lake Gallery, Minneapolis, in 1972, and Trajectory Gallery, London, Ontario, in 1973. Please note that the accesion number indicates the year the piece was inventoried, not the year in was added to the collection.
