Main altarpiece area has a rough sketch for a painting that is later done by Wilhelm Lamprecht. It depicts the Immaculate Conception, Bishop John Neumann (later canonized), Pope Pius IX, St. Francis and St. Benedict. The side panels depict St. Boniface and St. Patrick.
