Altarpieces are Christ Commissioning St. Peter, with St. Anthony of Padua and St. Gregory the Great flanking it. There is a crude pencil sketch on the right side of the altar that looks like it was added later and may have been a thought on how to wide the altar. The church has been identified as St. Peter Church in Brookville, Indiana, and as of 2013 the altar is still extant. Title of work is written in ink and in German in center under the front elevation, and in English in pencil in lower right.Artwork Details
