The edges of the cardboard are beginning to fray. A number of smudges and scratches in the paint are evident in the facing side, especially in the lower-left corner. Also, stains are evident on the reverse side, especially in the upper-middle and left corner.

The piece was donated by Mrs. Johanna Zimmerman, sister-in-law of the Gertrude Quastler, after she inheirited the collection upon the death of the artist. She donated the entire collection to Saint Vincent College in 1988.
