Dear Mr. Pierce,
For the record I am enclosing a dry
statement of face as to date. I hope
it will do. In a personal way I'll will
subject you to interpreting my
hieroglyphics which I hope will not
try your patience. You were right in
asking me to stick to the letter of our
agreement, for it has taken me lon-
ger than I estimated to complete
the part of the work calling for the
next payment and as it as now
I will feel better about it.
I vote what you have to say about
delivery of the work and profarable
date of shipment. It would be hard
for me now to say anything definite
or make any promises, but if you
will be a little patient I may in
a couple of month be able to see
my way clear to tell you some-
thing definite. Of course I fully
[page 2]
expect to have the work completed
by the end of the year and if nothing
extraordinary interferes, to do
a lot better. So far, I have devoted
my entire time to your work, now
I want take a little time off to
attend to a little work I have for
a Baltimore church and to which I
am forward by previous committments.
As soon as I can gage the time re-
quired for this I will let you
know more definitely about your
own work.
I would like to promise you some-
thing for your October date but
I am afraid to commit myself
and I would not want to dissappoint
you. I cannot hurry my work
and I should not want to, and
I know you will bear with me patiently
till I can see my
way clear to make a definite statement
to you.
You will hear from me again
and I shall keep you posted as to
the progress of things.
With best wishes I remain
Sincerely YoursTranscriber
