Dear Mr. Pierce
The drawing for Christ
has been made & the glass has
been cut for the future panel,
except the space where an inscrip-
tion is to be placed as planned by
my father. On his sketch the
lettering is very light and difficult
to read. By figuring out a few of
the words it seems to read --
"I am the resurrection & the life
eternal. He who believes in me
shall live." Reading through the
New Testament I have not come
[page 2]
across any occassion where
Christ said just that; but many
things similar -- some of them
are -- " Be thou faithful unto
death & I will give you the crown
of life" "I am come a light into
the world that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness."
"I am the way, the truth, & the light.
He that believeth shall be saved."
I write this as I thought perhaps
you would like to choose what you
think most appropriate.
The figure of Christ is
as you requested. He wears the
[page 3]
crown, a high tone red robe & white
undergarments. His arms are out
stretched as far as the panel would
allow (it's quite narrow) + an inscrip-
tion near the top reads "Come
unto me."
If there is any other quo-
tation you may come across (&
it is not too long) that will be
fine. Thank-you for your help in
this.
Sincerely yours,
Louise PitassiTranscriber
