Your letter & design arrived
today. The design is fine
be sure of your sizes and go
ahead.
However I am of the opinion
that a window so light will
kill the brilliancy of the great
wheel window which I want
to make the glory of the church.
18 such windows will admit a
great deal of light.
I would much prefer if the
lights will in any way interfere
with the long, front window or
the Sanctuary windows, to subdue
them even at the expense or sacrifice
of the better lighting of future paintings.
[page 2]
These paintings can be shown
up at night with electric light
at the time when the art glass
can be appreciated.
I shall leave all this to you
but be sure we get everything in way
of feeling an affect from the lower
round window in front over choir loft and
the seven windows high up in the Sanctuary.
I am returning your drawing -
remember that two of the clerstory
windows have ventilation furnished
by the contractor - the two rear of Choir.
Hope to be in Richmond Monday 7th and
in McKeesport 8th or 9th.
Good Luck & prosperity 1929
