This is a reproduction of a 16th century engraving of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Disciples during the Pentecost, which is the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Disciples. This is celebrated the seventh day after Easter. Mary is seated on a stool in the center with her head down and her hand together in a praying position. She is surrounded by the Disciples and others who are all also praying. The Holy Spirit is represented as a dove in the top center and there are balls of flames coming from the Holy Spirit and onto all the people.Artwork Details
