General Notes

Note

Alice Wagstaff owned three sets of Rorschach Tests, including these “ink blot” cards that a trained psychologist would show a patient and invite them to share what they see. Considering promising when developed by Hermann Rorschach in 1921, the projective psychological test was later found to have little predictive value and has largely fallen from use. Intriguingly, its symmetrical forms bear some resemblance to Verostko’s generative drawings (displayed in the video gallery). Could familiarity with these tools (used by his wife in her at-home patient meeting room, beside his artist’s studio) have inspired him?
