Description

The Cyclopes appear in various forms in Greek and Roman writings, including the works of Hesiod, Homer, Euripides, Theocritus and Virgil. In most of these works there were three Cyclopes who were brothers from a primordial race of giants with one eye in the middle of their forehead. The most famous of the brothers was Polyphemus, who encountered Odysseus in Homer's Odyssey.
