Description

The TRS-80 Line Filter was designed specifically for use with the TRS-80 Model I Microcomputer System and its peripherals. Its purpose was to prevent power transients from affecting the computer. When appliances like refrigerators, air conditioners, or hair dryers cause voltage spikes through the power line, they can lead to abnormal computer behavior (such as freezing or memory corruption). By plugging your TRS-80 system into the Line Filter instead of directly into a 120 VAC power source, you reduce the risk of such occurrences. The Line Filter doesn’t regulate voltage or current but acts as a protective barrier. It features outlets for both the computer and peripherals, ensuring proper power supply interactions. Remember to remove diskettes and cassettes before turning the system on or off.
