Diode Logic Module: The B5000 was assembled from various modules. One such module was the diode logic module, which contained 8 diodes mounted in a diallyl phthalate carrier. These modules played a role in the B5000’s operation. Human Interface and Languages: The B5000 offered higher-level programming languages such as ALGOL and COBOL as its human interface. It implemented innovative hardware/software ideas. Legacy: Since it was Burroughs’ first internally developed machine, the B5000 incorporated advanced aspects from the forefront of computer science.
