An "Ookpik" doll. The doll was created by an Inuit woman and quickly became a phenomenon in both the U.S. and Canada during the 1960s. The doll itself is made out of seal skin and is meant to resemble an owl, which is the animal that guides peoples spirits to the afterlife in Inuit culture.
