Abe Woodbury Home #15 on the walking tour
114 n. Sandhill Blvd.
On the southwest corner of this block was located an adobe brick home, owned by Abram Woodbury. Abram owned a general store and one of the first gas stations in Mesquite. Abram first purchased gasoline by the drum and then sold out a gallon at a time. The gas was hauled by team and wagon from the train station in Moapa, over 30 miles away. Later a regular gasoline tank was put in. The gas came out by turning a handle. Abram also opened a mercantile store and built some overnight cabins that he rented to tourists.
