Two Parlor Linen Door Curtains.Flax seed planted and grown on the old Springstead Farm.
"Tow" (to) or the course broken fibers of flax, hemp, etc., adj. made from tow [oe-tow-a spinning.] taken from "Comprehensive Disk Dictionary" Thorndike Bardhart (Doubleday).
Was spun into linin thread, linin color. Made into cloth known as "Linin". Made into "Door Curtains" for double open door frame with no doors on it. Curtains were hung up on what was known as "Curtain fixtures or hangers" for parlor doors. These curtains were all hand made with hem stiching and drawn work done by hand.
