Two small skookum dolls donated to the museum by Nora Leavitt. Skookum dolls were first created in 1913 by Mary McAboy and became widely popular in the U.S. All skookum dolls were based on different Native American tribes and were usually sold in tourist locations. Skookum dolls ceased production sometime in the 1960s.
