Description

Glass negative of female employees in the closing room of the Knox Woolen Company. In the closing room, the ends of the flat woven felts are placed on tables, and spliced or "closed" into endless belts by matching the many threads. The Knox Mill was the first mill in the United States to use this "closing" process of making endless felts.
