Carte de visite of a young William Ellis Hatch taken at Tuttle photo studio in Belfast, Maine circa 1890. William Hatch was the builder of the Camden Public Library in 1928. William Ellis Hatch of Camden, Maine, who was awarded the contract for the library, was a native of Islesboro, where he was a carpenter, builder, and operator of a lumber yard and hardware store. He moved to Camden in 1923. According to family records, his son, engineer Loranus P. Hatch, helped design the library "dome" (presumably the cupola).Photograph Details
