View of an office interior. A long counter runs along most of the room. There is a tin ceiling and a radiator. A commercial calendar is visible on the wall, reading "George E. Allen, Insurance in All Its Branches." The calendar is open to May 1925.
Identified as the Allen Insurance building. Founded by Wilder Perry in 1866, George E. Allen purchased the agency in 1902. His son, Hervey C. Allen, sold the business to J. Hugh Montgomery in 1935, who ran it until his death in 1953.
Inscribed on the back in blue pen:
"Herby [sic] Allen & Hugh Montgomery's Allen Insurance Agency--Main St., Camden, Me.
They moved into this brick building office in June 1920. Found info on postcard mailed to Corinne Sawyer in Milbridge by her sister Flomida Sawyer of Camden, Me.
Mida was a liscensed [sic] Insurance broker. When Hugh died she had to stay 2 yrs. till she was 72 to train the son David Montgomery. It is still in their family all these years later.
