New York Times article about "four deaths from a mysterious disease on the Bark Obrig." Article published March 16, 1885. The ill-fated Adolph Obrig was built at the Carleton-Norwood yard in Rockport, Maine in 1881 and was lost off Cape Horn due to improper rigging.
