Genealogical and other information, Inez Madell Leonard Lynch. Born June 2, 1908; died June 2, 1962. Camden High School Class of 1927. Wife of Frank Ames Sr. and mother of Frank Ames Jr. and wife of James Thomas Lynch and mother of Robert James Lynch, Rodney Cornelius Lynch, and Deborah Olive Lynch Ward., Cornelius Lynch. Born in 1876 in Syracuse, New York; his wife Anna Thompson Lynch was born in 1876 in Lockport, New York. Cornelius was the grandfather of Robert James Lynch, Rodney Cornelius Lynch. He is the father of James Thomas Lynch., James T. Lynch -- Born July 7, 1907, Syracuse, New York and died October 17, 2002 in Rockland. His parents were Irish Catholic -- Cornelius Lynch (b.1876) and Anna Thompson Lynch (b.1876). His older siblings were brother Jack and sisters Anna May and Gertrude. He was a Camden, Maine resident from 1929/1930 to 2002. Before and after World War II it was common for Camden and Rockport people to work at the hotels, restaurants and estates in Camden and Rockport during the summer months and then travel to Florida to work in the hotels, restaurants, and yachts during the winter months. James Lynch started doing the Maine to Florida routine before World War II. (He was interrupted by service in World War II in the Merchant Marine Army Transportation Corp. out of Searsport, Maine and Boston, Mass.) James worked at the Seminole Hotel for a number of years along with other Camden people such as Estelle Carr and Darrell Micue until it was torn down around 1980 (?). His jobs included houseman, bellhop, dining room and general maintenance man. Son Robert (1943-2017) also plied the Maine to Florida seasonal employment trade working as a cook and chef in the restaurants and hotels., Sena Arabel Light Leonard (1885-1975). Arabel was the wife of Lisle Leslie Leonard (1879-1941) and mother of Inez Madell Lynch (1908-1962), Chester Lisle Leonard (1910-1988), Olive Leonard Corthell (1911-1977), and Blanche Jenny Leonard Secotte Bridges (1918- September 11, 2001) as well as the grandmother of Rodney Lynch., Olive Leonard Corthell (December 21, 1911-January 6,1977) was manager and part owner of The Women's Shop on Main Street in Camden, Maine which was part of the former Haskell and Corthell Clothing Store, Shoe Hutch, and Ski Barn (owned by her husband Harold Corthell). As such she was one of the few female businesswomen on Main Street during that period. Olive was the sister to Inez Madell Leonard Lynch (1908-1962) CHS '27 and aunt of Rodney C. Lynch CHS '63, mother of Prudence Weaver Corthell Dickey CHS '47 and grandmother of Camden-Rockport High School Graduates Jeanette Dickey Peasley (September 19, 1951-March 16, 1986), David Dickey (born 1954), William Dickey, and Lynette Jane Dickey Gushee O'Hara (May 5, 1957-April 16, 2022)., 1st Lieutenant Harold "Hap" Arnold, U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF). Harold was born in Camden in 1917 and graduated from Camden High School (CHS) in 1935 followed by graduating from the Ballard Business School in Rockland in 1939. At the beginning of the war he wanted to become a pilot but because he could not pass the eye examination, he became a bombardier where he served as a crewman and a 1st Lieutenant on a B-17 Flying Fortress in the 615th Squadron of the 401st Bombardment Group in the African and European Campaigns. The 401st was stationed in England. Hap's service earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Distinguished Unit Badge, and the Air Medal with five clusters and six Bronze Stars., After the war he served in the Air Force Reserve at the Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine achieving the rank of major. Also serving with Harold in the Air Force Reserve was Lieutenant Colonel William "Bill'' Brawn. Bill Brawn served in World War ll in the USAAF and was the owner of the French and Brawn Marketplace Grocery Store in Camden. As a civilian Harold was the manager at the School House Togs in Camden. He died in 1973 at age 55 at the Togus Veterans Hospital and is buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery., James or "Jimmy" Secotte lived in Millville at 14 Thomas Street, Camden where he attended the Camden Mary E. Taylor School and Camden High School. He was member of the CHS Class of 1960. In both elementary and high school he played Little League Baseball and high school basketball., Community involvement included Commander of VFW Post 1398 in Skowhegan, Maine. Jimmy's siblings included sisters Elaine A. Secotte, Sonia Bridges, and Eva Secotte, and brothers Lisle Secotte and Mike Secotte. Other relatives included grandparents Sena Arabel and Lisle Leonard; his Aunt Olive Leonard Corthell and Uncle Harold Corthell who he lived with while attending High School in Camden; and First Cousins Rodney Lynch and Blanche "Bebe" Leonard Goodwin. In life, Jimmy was always known as a hard worker in whatever he did. Also, he was bit of a salesmen having worked in the Haskell & Corthell Clothing Store on Main Street in Camden., DNA Story for Rodney Lynch and Leonard Family -- predominately Scots Irish English German or European descendancy; especially the latter German descendancy as the Light (originally Leicht) family was amongst the first German settlers in Waldoboro circa 1750. After High School attended Ricker College in Houlton, Maine and graduated in 1967 with a B.A. in Social Sciences (History, Political Science and Economics).
