Dear Sir,
Enclosed you will find check for twenty five (25.00).
In looking over the columns of the Camden Herald I see that the public spirited men and women of Camden are going to have a public library. Three cheers for the women and men of Camden. The town is old enough and big enough and just as beautiful as can be, why should she not have a public library.
I see you have a man that is chairman on School Board by the name of Hooper. All you want to do is ad[sic] two letters 2 to Mr. Hooper's name and you will be all right as it is a phrase with us when we start a new enterprise we all say Hooperup and we all make a success of what we under take.
