Dear Mr. Preble,
Your appeal for a Public Library for Camden has deeply interested us, and we would like to help in a small way this very important project. We send you $25.00 towards it as a memorial of our little boy Richard Macy Prescott. The last summer of his life was spent in Camden and his happiness then will always be a bright spot in our recollections of him. This money is some that belonged to him, and we can think of no better use to make of it than to send it to you as a nucleus of a library fund.
We have no doubt your appeal will meet with many responses from others who like ourselves have such pleasant recollections of Camden and its good people.
Very truly yours,
Mr. and Mrs. John R. Prescott
