Scope and Content

A letter and envelope addressed to Mrs. Emma C. Dickens, secretary of the board of trustees at the Camden Public Library, from Frances Sanville in the sales department at H.W. Wilson Company. The letter is typewritten on company letterhead, with matching envelope. The mistakes in the address on the letter are corrected in pen on the envelope, changed to "Public Library Trustees" at "22 Pearl Street." October 29, 1918 Mrs. Emma C. Dickens, Sec'y. Public Library of Trustees 25 Pearl Street Camden, Maine Dear Madam:-- The bound annuals of the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature is sent to libraries requesting it on cards which are mailed to subscribers every fall. The charge is $1.00 in addition to the subscription rate. If you wish the 1918 annual to be sent to you in a cloth bound edition, it will be necessary to let us know now. Beginning with 1919 however the bound annual will be included in the regular subscription rate. A few days ago we sent to your library a copy of our complete list of publications indexed in our various bibliographies and indexes. We have no record of having received this list from you and are therefore enclosing a duplicate of it. Will you kindly have your librarian check this up with the magazines that come into your library. This will enable us to give you the renewal rate for your library. As we said before this renewal rate will include the bound annual at the end of the year. Very truly yours, The H.W. Wilson Company F.
