Scope and Content

A typewritten manuscript by the Reverend Ralph H. Hayden of St. Thomas Episcopal Church (1919-1933). The history of the library gives background to the library's beginnings in 1796, dealing primarily with the planning and construction of the current Camden Public Library in the 1920's. Hayden was president of the Camden Library Building Committee and was in the forefront of the fund drive. The manuscript is not dated, but includes statistics for the library for the year 1930.
