Scope and Content

A license to serve as third mate on ocean steam vessels issued to Alanson B. Thomas of Camden, Maine, on December 6th 1918. The license was co-signed by William Norman, U.S. Local Inspector of Hulls and Walter L. Blaisdell, Us. Local Inspector of Boilers. A stamped message on the right side reads: "Seaman's Certificate of American Citizenship Issued by Collector of Customs of New York, N.Y. no. 33707, Feb 26 1929."
