THORNDIKE REGARDING HIS SALE OF LAND NEAR BOG BRIDGE AND MOLYNEAUX MILL ROADS, CAMDEN, MAINE DATED SEPTEMBER 11, 1902 Transcription of the original document that was given to the Walsh History Center of Camden Public Library by William B. [End of cover] Know all Men by these Presents, That I Edwin J. Crane of Camden, County of Knox, and State of Maine, in consideration of fifteen hundred dollars paid by William H. Thorndike of said Camden, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto said William H Thorndike his Heirs and Assigns forever, a certain lot or parcel of land with the buildings thereon, situated in said Camden at junction of the Bog Bridge and Molyneaux Mill roads, bounded and described as follows: Beginning in the easterly line of the Bog Bridge on Hope road, at the junction of Molyneaux Mill road: Thence North westerly along line of the Hope road to stake and stones to corner of the Geo Barrett lot: thence easterly along line of the Barrett lot to Mill Creek, so called: Thence southerly along said Creek to a stake in the continuation of northerly line of Old Mansfield's land: Thence westerly along the northerly line of said Mansfields lot, to the North west corner of said Mansfield lot; Thence southerly along the Mansfield lot to the Molyneaux Mill road, so called; Thence westerly along line of said road to the place of beginning. Excepting from above described lot, the lot on Mill Creek, sold to Wm French by Flora E. Drinkwater, being a lot four rods by twenty, running southerly from the Barrett line. Also another lot of land in said Camden, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at junction of the Hope and Molyneaux Mill roads: Thence easterly along southerly line of the Molyneaux Mill road to land of Aldo Mansfield; Thence southerly along line of Mansfield's land to corner of land of C. W. Thomas: Thence S.79° W. along line of said Thomas' land about six hundred (600) feet to stake and [End of page 1] stones to line of the Hope road; Thence north westerly along line of the Hope road to the place of beginning. Also another lot of land in said Camden, bounded as follows: Beginning in the westerly line of the Bog Bridge or Hope road at the junctions of the road leading westerly there from and known as the Hosmers Pond road: Thence westerly along line of the Hosmers Pond road about twelve rods to line of land of Isaac Melvin: Thence northerly along Melvins line to a stake and stones at a point in the continuation of northerly line of the Norris Mansfield farm: Thence easterly on said line to the Hope road: Thence southerly along line of the Hope road to the place of beginning. Also another lot of land in said Camden, bounded as follows: Beginning in the westerly line of Hope road at junction of Hosmers' Pond road; Thence southerly along line of the Hope road about fifty rods to line of land of F. P. Frye; Thence southerly westerly along Frye's to Geo Heald to the Pond road; Thence, easterly along line of said road to the place of beginning, excepting the school house lot sold to Dist #6 by f. M. Richards, and also excepting all quarry rights reserved by said Richards in deed to William R. Hardy. Also conveying to said Thorndike all my right in the right of way from Molyneaux road to Strawbridge boat house, as owned in common by said Crane and Justus C. Strawbridge. To Have and to Hold the aforegranted and bargained premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, to the said William H. Thorndike his Heirs and Assigns, to his and their use and behoof forever. And I do covenant with the said Grantee his Heirs and Assign, that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises; that they are free of all incumbrances: that I have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said Grantee to hold as aforesaid; and that I and my Heirs, shall and will warrant and defend the same to the said Grantee, his Heirs and Assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons [ End of page 2] In Witness Whereof, I the said Edwin J. Crane, and Blanche M. Crane wife of the said Edwin J. Crane, joining in this deed as Grantor, and relinquishing and conveying her right by descent and all other rights in the above described premises, have hereunto set our hands and seals this eleventh day of Sep in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two Signed, Sealed and Delivered in presence of Mrs. Harry Pendleton Blanche M. Crane C. K. Miller Edwin J. Crane State of Maine. Knox ss. Sep 11th 1902. Then personally appeared the above named Edwin J. Crane. and acknowledged the above instrument to be his free act and deed.
