Merrill, August 2018 Edw Payson to Simon Barrett Rec Augst 14 45 past 9 a. m. paid [End of cover] Know all Men by these Presents, That I Edward Payson of Camden in the County Lincoln & Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gentleman in Consideration of Seventy Dollars paid by Simon Barrett of Barretstown in the County & State aforesaid. Gentleman the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, sell and convey unto the said Simon Barrett his Heirs & assign forever - a Certain Tract of Land laying in Camden Being part of the gore of Lot Number Twenty Four in the Second Division according to Noah Millers Survey, Being the same Land sd. Payson purchased of the said Barrett Containing Twenty four & one half acres TO HAVE and to HOLD the afore-granted Premises to the said Barrett his Heirs and Assigns, to his & their Use and Behoof forever. And I do covenant with the said Barrett his Heirs and Assigns, That I am lawfully seized in Fee of the afore-granted Premises; That they are free of all Incumbrances; That I have good Right to sell and convey the same to the said Barrett. And that I will warrant and defend the same Premises to the said Barrett his Heirs and Assigns forever, against the lawful Claims and Demands of all Persons. In Witness whereof, I the said Edward Payson have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Fifteenth Day of August. in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred- Signed, sealed, and delivered in Presence of us, James W Head Edward Payson William Gregory Jr. Lincoln ss. Warren Aug. 15. 1800. Then the above-named Edward.Payson. acknowledged the above Instrument to be his free Act and Deed-before me, I J.W. Head.
