Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Pitman of Union in the county of Lincoln & commonwealth of Massachusetts shipwright in consideration of the sum of one hundred & sixty five dollars & seventy cents paid by Ephraim Barrett of Camden in the county & commonwealth aforesaid, yeoman the receipt whereof, I do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold & quitclaimed & by these presents do give grant bargain sell & forever quitclaim unto the said Ephraim Barrett his heirs & assigns forever all my right title & interest in & to a certain tract [next two words lined through] the following real estate lying in Camden in said county being a part of the dwelling house in which Farnham Hall now lives to wit, the easterly front room on the lower floor & the chamber over the same & the roof thereof & the cellar under the same with all of the privileges to the same belonging & likewise the privileges in common with other owners of said house of the entry, the front door & passage way to the road & privilege of the front stairs, also the following and adjoining the said easterly corner of said house bounded as follows to wit beginning at a post on the county road being William Carleton's southerly corner then Southwesterly adjoining said road two rods & fourteen links to the easterly front gate post; thence north thirty seven degrees west to the easterly side of the front door & passing the same; bound in the wall of said room two rods & twenty links to land sett off to John Drake thence north fifty degrees east passing through the house & bounding on said Drake to land of William Carleton two rods & seventeen links; thence south thirty five degrees & one half degree east bounding on said Carleton two rods & twenty links to the first mentioned bound being the same real estate which was this day sett off to me on

an execution in favour of me against Farnham Hall to satisfy the same with all costs references being had to the return of the appraisers & sheriff as said execution for a more particular description of said premises To have & to hold the said granted & remissed premises with the privileges to the same belonging to him the said Ephraim Barrett his heirs & assigns forever And I the said Joseph do covenant with said Barrett that I will warrant & defend the same to the Barrett his heirs & assigns against all persons claiming under me as my heirs forever. In witness whereof I have, hereunto set my hand & seal this sixteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen.
