Know all Men by these Presents, that I Ebenezer Hobbs of Camden in the County of Knox and state of Maine in consideration of Six hundred dollars paid by Theresa B. Thorndike apaid Camden the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Theresa B. Thorndike her heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situated in said Camden bounded and descried as follows to wit: Beginning at a stake and stones standing on the northwesterly side of road from Camden to Lincolnville centre and at the corner of Powder Mill road, so called; Thence south 76° west on said Powder Mill road twenty rods to lot of land on west by D. H. Bisbee; Thence north 17 ½ ° west three rods to N.E. corner of said Bisbee lot; Thence South westerly on said Bisbee lot forty seven rods to stake & stones at High water mark for a corner; Thence northeasterly on the bank margin of Megunticook stream not including the land mowed about forty two rods to E.W. Gould's land; Thence northeasterly on said Gould's land fifteen rods and twenty one & ¼ links to stake & stones; Thence south 17 ½ ° East rods to corner of said Gould's land; Thence north 76° East on said Gould's land to said road to Lincolnville Centre; thence on last named road south 17 ½ ° East twenty four rods to the place of beginning containing ten acres and five square rods more or less
To have and to hold the above granted premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said Theresa B. Thorndike her Heirs and Assigns, to their use and behoof forever.
And I the said Ebenezer Hobbs for myself and my Heirs, Executors and Administrators, do covenant with the said Theresa B. Thorndike her Heirs and Assigns, that I am lawfully seized in fee simple of the aforegranted premises; that they are free from all incumbrances, that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Theresa B. Thorndike her Heirs and Assigns forever as aforesaid; and that I will and my Heirs, Executors and Administrators shall warrant and defend the same to the said Theresa B. Thorndike her Heirs and Assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons.
In witness whereof, I the said Ebenezer Hobbs have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and seventy two
