Simonton [in pencil] Brookside Ave lot [End of cover] Know all Men by these Presents, That we, Josephine H. Simonton in her own right, and Thaddeus R. Simonton, her husband, joining in this deed, in consideration of one hundred dollars, paid by William H. Thorndike of said Camden, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey, unto the said Thorndike, his Heirs and Assigns forever, a certain lot or parcel of land situated in said Camden, bounded and described as follow, to with: Beginning in the line of W. G. Barrett land, at the point two hundred and fifty feet easterly from the easterly line of Belmont Avenue at the northeasterly corner of Tobin house lot; thence northeasterly on said Barrett land one hundred and sixty-one feet more or less to the southwesterly corner of land formerly owned by the late John Boardman; thence southerly following the line of land of late William E. Barnes, et al. about one hundred feet to a point marked by an iron post driven into the ground and standing in a line which is the continuation of the northerly line of a proposed Avenue running from Belmont Avenue to the Brook; thence on the northerly line of said proposed Avenue in a westerly direction parallel with northerly line of Geo. F. Mansfield's land, and 121 feet distant therefrom, about 110 feet to place of beginning, with right of way over said proposed way from Curtis line to Belmont Avenue thirty-three feet wide. [End of page 1] To have and to hold the aforegranted and bargained premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, to the said Wm. H. Thorndike his Heirs and Assigns, to their use and behoof forever. And we do covenant with the said Grantee, his Heirs and Assigns, that we are lawfully seized in fee of the premises; that they are free of all incumbrances; that we have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Grantee to hold as aforesaid; and that we and our heirs, shall and will Warrant and Defend the same to the said William H. Thorndike, his Heirs and Assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. [End of page 2] In witness whereof, we the said g joining in this conveyance and relinquishing and conveying their rights by descent and all other rights in the above described premises, have hereunto set our hands and seals this eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight.
