PLAN OF THE LANDS TO THE HEIRS OF BRIGADIER WALDO LYING ON THAT PART OF THE PENOBSCOT BAY CALLED PASSAGASSAWAUKEAG. Despite the lengthy and somewhat misleading title, this 10 December 1768 map by Joseph Chadwick shows the Town of Belfast, first, second, and third divisions of parcels, as ordered by the Proprietors who purchased these lands from the Waldo Heirs. These Belfast Proprietors were a group of investors from the Town of Londonderry, New Hampshire. Note that all of the lots except one are numbered. The un-numbered easternmost lot bears the name of Richard Stimpson, who was awarded "100 acres of his choosing" in return for laying out a road to this new town.Collection
