Scope and Content

HARBORS OF CAMDEN AND ROCKPORT, MAINE. [1864/1865] from a Trigonometric Survey Under A. D. Bache, Superintendant of the Survey of the Coast of the United States. Scale 3 1/8 " to 1 Mile. Soundings are shown for the marine waters; individual buildings, roads, paths, streams, and land cover are depicted on the land area shown. Triangulation, 1861; topography, 1863; hydrography, 1865. Two copies: one copy is clear with minor tears at margins, monted on foam core board and in polyethylene protective cover. Handwritten note on protective cover: "Camden & Rockport Hbrs. #17.S-2556. $15.00. The second copy is yellowed, folded twice and stained at folds, with minor tears in the upper margin.
