Description

A compilation of four manuscripts of Hezekiah Prince, Sr. dating from 1786-1839. The first is a daybook, "Remarks of my life" kept from 1786-1792 (age 15-21). The second is titled "Memoirs" edited by his son, George, of a 1200 mile horseback trip from Maine to Virginia. The third titled "Commonplace Books" includes dairy entries from 1808-1815. The fourth is an 1839 journal transcribed by his great-granddaughter, Henrietta Prince Boyd; the original of this last manuscript was lost. Members of the Prince and Coombs family are listed in genealogy included in the appendix. Physical Description: 22 cm.,114 pages, illustrations
