A collection comprised of abstracts of all records of the Probate Courts of Maine, whether wills, administrations, estate division, estate accounts, guardianships or other acts. In addition, the author notes four separate publications where early Maine estate papers and records are in print. This collection capsulizes the four publications themselves as they survived and are indexed. Additional records of Maine probate are in the Suffolk County, Massachusetts during the period ofr 1686-1692. The work is arranged by volume notation, item number, name of person with residence, title of act and folio number, file number, and abstract. A notation of methodology for dating of inventories, spelling of names, and sources is also listed. This volume includes York County Volumes 13-18 as well as the counties of Cumberland, Lincoln, Hancock , Washington, and Kennebec, covering the years 1775-1800. Also listed are indexes of person, subjects, places and occupations.
