Good for its age. According to HMB, this globe has value and was of interest to the Rand McNally organization. The donor felt it would better serve the interests of the Camden community. Globe is worn at the top point of connection with rod. Could use restoration to salvage further damage at that point and also a thorough cleaning as normal day to day dust is observable. The outer rim covering is showing excessive wear. Preservation, and perhaps some restorative measures, may be beneficial.

Notes: This globe was purchased for and used by patrons and visitors of the Camden Public Library. It was removed from that location at some point during the 1980's it is believed and purchased by the Carlson family of Camden. It remained in their family's possession until October of 2007 when it was gifted to the Camden Area History Center. Status: OK Status By: Heather Bilodeau Status Date: 2009-06-18
