Sale of land in Camden by Archibald and Lydia Buchanan to Rodolphus Bowers.
"Know all men by these presents that I, Archibald Buchanan of Camden, County of Waldo and State of Maine yeoman ~ in consideration of four hundred and fifty dollars paid by Rodolphus Bowers of Camden County & State aforesaid yeoman. The receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, sell and convey unto the said Rodolphus Bowers a certain piece of land situated in Camden in Miller's Survey and bounded as follows beginning at stake and stones at the road leading from Camden harbor by Alexander Green & at the westerly corner of lands owned by Benjamin Cushing, thence north twenty-one degrees east nine rods to stake and stones thence south thirty-eight degrees east sixteen rods to stake and stones, thence north seven degrees east thirty eight rods to stake and stones, thence north nine degrees west seventy two rods to stake and stones, this far by land of Benj. Cushing thence south sixty-four degrees west sixy-four rods by Ralph Bowers' land to the road, thence by said road southeasterly twenty six degrees, sixty one rods to stake and stones opposite a shop owned by Archibald Buchanan, thence south fifty-two degrees east thirty-two rods to the place of beginning, containing twenty-seven acres more or less.
To have and to hold the afore granted premises to said Rodolphus Bowers, his heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever, I do covenant with the said Rodolphus Bowers, his heirs and assigns, that I am lawfully seized in fee of the afore granted premises, that they are free of all incumbrances, that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Rodolphus Bowers & I will warrant & defend the same premises to the said Rodolphus Bowers his heirs & assigns forever against the lawful claims & demands of all persons.
In witness whereof, I the said Archibald Buchanan and Lydia, wife of the said Archibald, in token of my relinquishment & [?] of [?] or thereof have hereunto set our hands and seals this ninth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty-two.
