A history of the town of Dixmont, Maine written and delivered by Llewellyn P. Toothaker (1850-1924) at the centennial celebration of the town on August 14, 1907. The information was revised and updated in 1975 by Eleanor A. Toothaker for the 175th anniversary. Llewellyn Toothaker was active in town government, serving as selectman, school board member, moderator, and treasurer, teacher, and school superintendent. He was also a probate lawyer.
