The well-known “silver books,” products of the Mayflower Society’s Five Generation Project, are an attempt to identify the first five generations of Pilgrim descendants. The descendants of John Howland are published in two volumes: Volume 1 follows the first four generations of his children Lydia, Hannah, Joseph, Jabez, Ruth, and Isaac.
