Original photograph of Knowlton Brothers Foundry, July 19, 1883. The foundry was located on the corner of Knowlton and Mechanic Streets in Camden, Maine. It was founded by David Knowlton in 1853, and by 1880 his four sons had taken over the business. The foundry manufactured items such as ships' iron windlasses, performed machine shop work, and made railway cars for quarries.Collection
