SPIRITualityDescription
In the final part of the Women and Spirituality trilogy, filmmaker Donna Read examines the many manifestations of women's spirituality in the Western world in the last decade of the twentieth century. As she completes her personal journey to discover the history and present practices of goddess religions, she finds women meeting together around kitchen tables and in circles on hilltops, discussing spirituality and performing rituals that give them the strength to transform their personal beliefs into political ans social action. Authors, social activists, and teachers also appear, advocating a reverence for the earth, which in turn can become a healing process for ourselves. They emphasize that veneration of the earth comes from encompassing the female perspective, viewing the earth as a sacred circle, a community where we live our lives and which we must protect. Drawing on the customs, rites, and knowledge of the past, Full Circle envisions a sustainable future based on community, where domination is replaced with respect.Secondary Title
