Scope and Content

Kathy Lewis shares her journey as a Lesbian and how she came to be involved in the development of key organizations such as New England (Northeast) Women’s Musical Retreat (NEWMR) and Craftswomen’s Mutual Aid Society (CMAS). Carving wood and crafting jewelry, such as her famous labrys necklaces, brought Kathy closer to herself and closer to the women around her—especially Lesbian musicians.
