The organization Marriage Equality RI assumed leadership in the fight for marriage justice in Rhode Island in the late 1990s. This t-shirt was used in its campaign, which proved successful with the August, 2013 enactment of legislation passed by a vote of 51-19 in the RI House and 26-12 in the RI Senate. The t-shirts were worn by citizen lobbyists championing the cause at the State House and by many who participated in RI Pride marches.
