Canadian Woman Studies welcomed French-language contributions and manuscripts in French and English that dealt with issues pertaining to the lives of women of color, Aboriginal women, immigrant women, working class women, women with disabilities, lesbians, and other marginalized women. By demystifying communications among women, "CWS" actively worked towards serving as a middle ground between the scholarly and the popular, between theory and activism.
