The journal covered feminist art, history and performance, with a particular focus on women's spirituality. In fact the final "cycle" (issue) was devoted exclusively to the subject of women's altars.
HOLDINGS: Cycle 4, Autumn, 1979.Context
The journal, based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, was founded and edited by Kay Turner, and published by Sowing Circle Press between 1976 and 1983. Every issue was referred to as a "cycle," with considerable effort going into each, all covers being hand silk-screened and the first three "cycles" produced largely by hand. The sixth and final cycle was produced differently than the rest.Publication Details
