Context

"Maize: A Lesbian Country Magazine," focused on the Lesbian Land movement, was started in 1982 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and still produces issues today. Over the years, "Maize" has been produced and published by an array of various editors and land collectives, based in different areas of the U.S., including: Word Weavers (1983-91); Serafina, NM (1992-Summer '97); Spinsterhaven, Fayetteville/Combs, AR (Fall 1997- Fall '99); Augusta, ME (Winter 1999-Summer 2000); Whittier, NC (Fall 2000- Fall '01); Berlin, MD (2001-2); Baldwin, WI (2003-5); Huntsville, AL (2006- Fall '07); and Women, Earth & Spirit / Outland, Serafina, NM (1984 - present.)
